How It All Started
We bring in the entire animal directly from the farmer.
In 2015, our founders saw a gap in the market for reliable, traceable pork supply that foodservice businesses could depend on. Too often, chefs, caterers and retailers struggled with inconsistent quality, unclear sources and a lack of cold-chain control. With deep roots in farming and a passion for quality, Savanna Butchers was born.
What made us different from day one was our commitment to owning and managing the entire value chain. Instead of simply reselling meat, we built our own farms in the Eastern Region, developed our own processing facilities and established a cold-store hub in Osu — a model that lets us deliver pork that’s not just fresh, but also fully traceable.

January 12th, 2016
The Vision Begins
The idea for a fully integrated pork supply business is born. After years of working closely with farmers and the foodservice industry, our founders identify a growing need for consistent, hygienic and traceable pork supply in Ghana.
March 28th, 2018
Farming Operations Established
The first Savanna Butchers partner farms are developed. Focus is placed on proper animal care, nutrition and controlled environments — setting the foundation for a modern, sustainable pork supply chain.
February 10th, 2020
Investment in Processing & Cold Chain
Planning begins for a dedicated processing facility and cold-store hub designed to meet strict hygiene and food-safety standards. Equipment, training and systems are put in place to ensure reliability and traceability from farm to customer.
January 15th, 2023
Building Partnerships With Ghana’s Food Industry
Savanna Butchers begins supplying selected restaurants, caterers and retailers through private distribution channels. Early feedback confirms a strong demand for consistent, high-quality local pork.
April 3rd, 2024
Savanna Butchers Officially Opens
Our flagship butchery and cold-store operation launches in Osu, offering custom cuts, full carcasses and wholesale services to businesses across Accra. With complete control from farm to delivery, Savanna Butchers is established as a trusted, modern supplier in Ghana’s growing food industry.

Responsibly raised pork, processed under strict hygiene standards and delivered through a controlled cold chain. Available as primals, portioned cuts, whole or half carcasses.

Custom Cutting
Every order can be hand-cut to your exact specification — from thickness and trimming to portion size and packaging.

Dry aged in house
We select all of our meat on the bone and dry-age for a minimum of 28 days for beef.
Fresh not frozen
Our meat has never been frozen. It will arrive to you perfectly chilled.
